The threat of a gas crisis loomed in the country. After June 29, there is a threat of a severe gas crisis in Pakistan.
Due to the severe gas crisis, it was decided to suspend gas supply to CNG and the industrial sector in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from today.
In Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Sui Northern has decided to cut off the gas supply to the non-export industry, cement sector, and CNG sector.
On the other hand, the gas supply to CNG stations in Sindh was cut off for another six days. Stations closed from June 22 will now remain closed until July 9, 2021.
Geo News, citing sources, claimed that the country’s gas supply would be further reduced from June 29, which could continue till July 7. After July 7, the gas situation
will return to normal.
Sources said that the gas supply for Karachi city will be reduced by 150 mm while Sui Northern gas supply will be reduced by 600 MMCFD.
