Electricity has been increased by Rs 4.74 per unit NEPRA Notification Issued
Islamabad: According to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), electricity has been increased by Rs4.74 per unit.
NEPRA also issued a notification to increase the price of electricity.
Electricity has been made more expensive under the October fuel price adjustment.
The notification stated that the increase will be collected from consumers in December 2021 electricity bills.
According to the notification, the decision will not apply to Lifeline and K-Electric customers.
Rising electricity prices will impose an additional burden of Rs 60 billion on consumers.
The hearing on the petition regarding the increase in electricity prices was held on December 1, 2021. In which it was stated that the production of electricity from mixed fuels in the month of October resulted in an additional cost of Rs 44 billion for fuel while the increase of Rs 16 billion was happened due to an increase in international fuel prices.
Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while reacting strongly to the increase in electricity prices has said that making electricity more expensive in terms of fuel price adjustment charges is an economic murder of the people.
He said that Imran Khan was the culprit of the nation who pushed the people into the mire of inflation.
According to Hum News, Chairman PP Bilawal Bhutto has sharply criticized the government and said that billions of rupees have been looted from the pockets of the people by increasing electricity prices.
Referring to the past, Chairman PP From day one we have raised our voice against the PTI IMF budget. Bilawal Bhutto said that PPP will hold nationwide protests against inflation tomorrow.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that PPP’s protest against inflation would continue till the end of the government.
The statement of the Ministry of Energy regarding the monthly fuel adjustment has also come to light in which it was stated that the monthly fuel adjustment in the price of electricity was explained on 22nd November 2021. NEPRA made the decision after a formal hearing. According to the Ministry of Energy, today’s decision will have no permanent effect on the price of electricity. NEPRA holds public hearings on fuel price adjustment every month and determines the price of fuel for a certain period of time which can be positive or negative.
On the other hand, the officials of All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association Lahore Division said in a joint statement that the rulers are not aware of the economic and financial difficulties of the common man.
The three-year government performance came only in the form of inflation, unemployment and slavery to the IMF.
They said that the mini-budget was tantamount to another oppression of the government by the people.
The people have been suffering from high prices, unemployment and poverty for three and a half years.
In practice, it has been handed over to the IMF, due to which mountains of inflation are falling on the people.
They said that due to inflation and devaluation of rupees in the country, the life of the people has become indigestible.
