K-Electric, an electricity distribution company in Karachi, has applied to the National Electric Power and Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the price of electricity by Rs 3.40 per unit.

Karachi: K-Electric has requested to increase the price of electricity by Rs 3.40 per unit. The increase in the price of electricity has been requested for January’s fuel adjustment. According to Dunya News, K Electric has requested NEPRA to increase the price of electricity by Rs 3.40 per unit in terms of monthly fuel adjustment.

NEPRA will hold the hearing on March 1, 2022, on the request for monthly fuel adjustment. It has been reported that K Electric has asked for an increase in the price of electricity for the January fuel adjustment, which will impose a burden of Rs 3.72 billion on consumers. NEPRA says K Electric has also applied for an adjustment for the second quarter of the current financial year.
K-Electric has requested to reduce the price of electricity by 30 paise in its quarterly adjustment from October to December 2021.
