Bad News for K-Electric consumers.
Karachi: K-Electric submitted an application to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase electricity price by Rs 0.54 per unit.

The K-Electric sought permission to invest Rs 143.86 billion through multi-years tariff. K-Electric has demanded an increase of Rs 0.65 in the cost of working capital, Rs 0.10 in the case of the revision loan cost, Rs 0.29 in term of growth and Rs 0.50 per unit in terms of normal working capital.
Also, K-Electric has requested to increase the rate of return on investment from 17.05% to 41.94 %.
NEPRA says a hearing will be held on 16th September 2020 on the request of K-Electric and a decision will be taken about this request.
Earlier, NEPRA has approved Rs 1.29 per unit increase for K-Electric consumers.
