National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Has Reduced The Price Of Electricity for K-Electric’s Consumers.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued an eleven (11) months fuel price adjustment for K-Electric.

NEPRA declared K-Electric responsible for electricity shortage in Karachi

NEPRA has issued a notification in this regard,

Under the fuel price adjustment of October 2019, NEPRA has increased the price of electricity by 10 paise and in January 2020 by 94 paise per unit.

According to the notification, during the two months of November and December 2019, electricity has been reduced by Rs 2.12 per unit and Rs 1.75 per unit under the fuel adjustment price respectively.

NEPRA has announced 50 paise per unit price of electricity for Karachi consumers in February 2020, a slight reduction in March, and a reduction of 78 paise per unit in April.

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA)  Notification has reduced the price of electricity for Karachi K-electri consumers by Rs 2.17 per unit.

According to the notification, the tariff has been increased for 6 months and reduced for 5 months for K Electric customers. It is a monthly fuel adjustment for July 2019 to May 2020.
The notification stated that the change in prices will be applicable from March 2021 to May 2021, while the change in electricity prices will be applicable to all consumers of K Electric.
NEPRA held a hearing on March 4 in Islamabad at the request of K Electric. After the fuel adjustment notification, Karachi power consumers will get a total relief of Rs 2.3 billion.

NEPRA told that the decision on 11 months of in-fuel price adjustment applications was delayed due to Corona.
