NEPRA has approved to increase the price of electricity by Rs 5.94 per unit

NEPRA approves monthly fuel price adjustment at Rs 5.94 per unit on Government request.

Islamabad:  Due to the increase in electricity price, consumers will bear an additional burden of Rs 50 billion.

This increase in the price of electricity will not apply to K-Electric and lifeline consumers.

According to NEPRA officials, the shortage of LNG in January led to an additional burden of Rs 7.74 billion. Meanwhile, globally coal and LNG prices rose.

The authority also reprimanded the power division officials for the shortage of LNG.
