The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased Gas prices; a notification issued. The new gas prices will be affected from November 1, 2023.
Islamabad: The government has fulfilled the IMF condition of increasing the price of gas after electricity, and OGRA has given formal approval for the increase in gas prices.
According to the details, after the approval of the government, OGRA has issued a notification for the increase in gas prices. The new gas prices will be applied from November 01, 2023.
According to the notification, the price has not been increased for protected consumers of gas from 25 to 90 cubic meters per month. Fixed charges for protected customers increased from Rs.10 to Rs.400.
The gas price for non-protected domestic consumers has been increased by more than 172%.
The price of 25 cubic meters of gas per month has been increased from Rs.200 to Rs.300 per MMBtu. The price of 60 cubic meters of gas per month has been increased from Rs.300 to Rs.600 per MMBtu.
The price of 100 cubic meters of gas per month has been increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1000 per MMBtu, while the price of 150 cubic meters of gas per month has been increased from Rs 600 to Rs 1200 per MMBtu. The price of 200 cubic meters of gas per month has been increased from Rs.800 to Rs.1600 per MMBtu. The price of 300 cubic meters of gas per month has been increased from Rs 1100 to Rs 3000 per MMBtu. 3100 to 4000 rupees per MMBtu has been fixed.
According to the notification, the price of gas for tandoors remains at Rs 600 per MMBtu, while the gas price for power plants remains at Rs 1050 per MMBtu. The price of gas for the cement sector has been fixed at Rs 4400 per MMBtu.
The price of gas per MMBtu for the CNG sector has been fixed at Rs.3600. Gas price for export industries has been fixed at Rs 2100 per MMBtu. Gas price for non-export industries has been fixed at Rs.2200 per MMBtu.
