OGRA Increases Gas Prices

OGRA approved to increase in gas prices By 74.42% for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and 67.75% for Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC).

Islamabad (Billinfo Latest. 11 January 2023): After the approval of the federal government, the new prices will be applied from July 2022. If the government does not approve within 40 days, the OGRA decision will be implemented automatically.
According to the announcement issued by OGRA, an increase of Rs. 406.28 per MMBTU has been approved for Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) while for Sui Southern, the new price for Sui Southern has been approved at Rs 1,169 per MMBTU.
If the government does not approve within 40 days, the Ogra decision will be implemented automatically.
While the public rejected the decision to increase the price of gas. The public exploded at the news of the price of gas increased. People say that gas is not available, so why is it being made expensive? The crisis of gas shortage has intensified in different cities. Citizens are forced to burn expensive LPG and firewood due to the shutdown of gas. All day long and especially during cooking hours, citizens are being humiliated due to the shutdown of gas.

While LPG gas, whose price is skyrocketing, is also out of the reach of the middle class.
Despite the shutdown of gas to factories, the non-availability of gas to domestic consumers is a question mark for the department. People are demanding the higher authorities of Sui Northern Gas to ensure the supply of Sui gas so that the stoves in people’s homes can be lit.
