An 11.8 kg LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs 94.89. After the increase, the new price of a domestic cylinder will be fixed at Rs 1,667.29. In May, a domestic LPG cylinder cost Rs 1,572.40. OGRA has issued a notification to increase the price of LPG. The new LPG prices will be applicable for June 2021.
On the other hand, PML-N submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly Secretariat against the Rs 20 increase in the price of LPG.
The text of the resolution submitted by Hina Pervez Butt said that with the increase of Rs 20, the price of LPG has gone up from Rs 90 to Rs 110 per kg, the domestic cylinder has gone up by Rs 200 and commercial cylinder by Rs 900. It will be sold at Rs 4,994 instead of Rs 1,298 and a commercial cylinder at Rs 4,086. It is demanded that the increase in LPG prices be withdrawn immediately.
In addition, a summary of changes in the prices of petroleum products has been prepared from June 1. It was recommended to increase the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 4.32 per liter and maintain the price of petrol at the current level. The summary also recommended maintaining the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil at the current level. The Finance Ministry will approve the revision in the prices of petroleum products on May 31 after consulting the Prime Minister.
