Sania Mirza, Former Wimbledon Doubles Champion, All-time Best Women Tennis Player of India, has announced her retirement from professional Tennis after 2022

After her first-round loss in the Women’s Doubles in the Australian Open, Sania stated, “I’ve decided that this will be my last season. I’m taking it week by week. Not sure if I can last the season, but I want to”.

Sania Mirza was born on 15 November 1986 in Mumbai
Her father name is Imran Mirza, a sports journalist and her mother name is Naseema.
She attended Nasr School in Hyderabad. She later graduated from St. Mary’s College,
Hyderabad. Sania also received an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters from Dr. M.G.R.
Educational and Research Institute in Chennai on 11 December 2008.
She took up tennis at the age of six. She has been coached by her father and also Roger
Anderson.

Sania Mirza had won her first major title at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea at age of 15. She and Leander Paes won the Bronze medal in mixed doubles.

 Sania Mirza had won her first major Gold title at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qattar. She and Leander Paes won Gold medal in mixed doubles.

In 2005, Sania Mirza won the Hyderabad Open in February 2005 and became the first-ever
Indian woman to win a WTA Tour Singles Title.
